    Good country boy look for the lead. The hippy long-hair and the techy spike don't work into the music. And he smiles a little, Great talent! Oh Nicholas, write your own song and sing it!

    That "thing" that introduced them as you call him, this show is HIS. Marty Stuart is a true legend in bluegrass and country and a little rockabilly too. Multi instrumentalist, songwriter, singer and preserver of all things traditional country. Curator at the Country Music Hall of Fame, he has many items that have been donated to him on display there from several country music legends that were friends of his. The Nudie cowboy suits are a throwback to the 50's and 60's in Country Music. He's played with Lester Flatt and with Johnny Cash, who was for a time, his father in law. Show a little respect.

      Hey,, who EVER referred to Marty Stuart as a "thing".... is an IDIOT! Marty is a GREAT musician from Philadelphia Mississippi and a "traditionalist " in Country Music. He played at the young age of 13 with some of the Bluegrass Greats in Music. That makes me angry to even think someone would refer to him as "thing". He's contributed a LOT to Country Music and makes Mississippi PROUD. Glad he's still around!

    I was at this filming, it was early in the morning and they seemed pretty tired. They did this song in one take but took 2 takes for the other song they did. They also had some "manager" busting their balls about being "perfect". I thought they were great as usual! They have tons of energy whether they feel up to it or not. They are people pleasers….even more so when they don’t have some “trainer” barking at them.

    • @TheEzzieboy
      @TheEzzieboy Год назад

      Well, they are letting cousin Leroy Troy sit in, so THAT is for sure a liability. That worthless pos shouldn't even be on the same stage with these great musicians.

    Wow…I guess you just don’t know what you’re talking about. Marty, who got his start at age 13 playing mandolin with Lester Flatt and the Nashville Grass, is one of the few trying to preserve traditional music - country, bluegrass and gospel.

  • @mikesirman

    You cant really count Hank III in that though, the reason hank III did the show is because marty stuart bought his grand dad's suit and he let III wear it for the show. The only thing III has from senior(I think) is his tie which he wore with the suit for the show. So basically he was wearing the full outfit that hank Sr used to play in. I think he should have just given the suit to III, not like he doesnt have a shitload of money and he probably didnt even buy it for that much.

    I think Marty Stuart is one of the cocksuckers that make country music the way it is now. This country-pop from Nashville is a shame for every self-respecting musician and Stuart sold his soul to it. I love OCMS, btw

    it's funny you say for "all the old people" when the old people listen to cash, haggard and nelson (along with the rest of the good ol boys) who were the "rock stars" drinking/drugs of their time. I'm not saying you're wrong, just funny that the old folks think their music was any diffferent

  • @XxWINxX94
    @XxWINxX94 12 лет назад

    I agree OCMS rocks but I believe they are dressing up to make it seem like a performance from years gone back. If you ever watch a "country" performance from the 40's or 50's, they are always dressed up. It was an opry thing, and thats just how it works. Marty could be trying to keep this demeanor alive. You might also notice some old-world things on the set like the oil lantern. Hank III played this same show and was dressed up, and if you know Hank III he NEVER dresses up haha!

  • @jwood49161
    @jwood49161 12 лет назад

    I have a hard time believing that. Both Ketch and Willie were together in OCMS for close to 15 years. Not to mention Willie was recognized as the lead singer in their early days. To say that Willie doesn't have "it" is ridiculous. He's easily the most talented singer in the group, arguably one of the best folk singers anywhere. Willie leaving the band will hurt OCMS in the future and the band had to know that.

      "as good as"? Marty is one of the premiere masters on stringed instruments. He's usually the best musician on the stage, regardless of who else is there.

    It is, he toured with OCMS for a couple of years and is now in Jack White's backing band.
